Bull is heading to Perth!

I will be making the long trek from Canberra to Perth in a few weeks, and I am pretty excited about it. It will be my first time to Perth and my sister lives over there, which is my primary reason for going (plus, it sounds like a sweet place to go for a good holiday). Oh yeah, the Red Bull Air Race will be on too - Score!!

Anyway, it would be cool if I could meet up with some of the DFW crew in WA. Unlike Philly's meet, "I'm a real boy" and can legally consume alcohol! No idea about what kinda plans we could set out, but maybe going to the pub for a countery and then something after that sounds like a good place to start.

So, DFW members in Perth - if you are available some time between the 26th of October and the 7th of November (the days I will be in Perth). Plus, if you got some good ideas of stuff to do - by all means suggest away.
By the way, I will be staying at my sister's place in Fremantle - so just need to remember that. Though it should be fine.

Well Yowie, I am coming from Canberra with a population of 300,000 or so. So it is always good to get back to a proper city etc.

I am pretty pumped about this trip, and will be my major holiday for the year! So don't screw it up hehehee.

Oh yeah, if you wanted to come to Fremantle for the pubs etc. Well, maybe wait until I get there and scope out the situation on where to go etc. Unless someone else already knows the area.

Wednesday or Thursday night next week sound like possibilities to me, any Perth based DFW members up for that? Or can certainly do it on a weekend if need be.

Should be able to jump on my sister's laptop while in Perth, but not sure how often that will be.

If you are looking at a weekend slot, it would either have to be this weekend (27-28 Oct) or next weekend (2-4 Nov). Then I am heading off to Adelaide on the 7th of Nov.

27th - 28th is definately a no go for me. I am happy to go out for a drink or something the weekend after

Well, I arrived in town on Friday after long trip over from Canberra. Jumped on the plane in Canberra at 9:15am EST, flew down to Melbourne which took like 45 mins. Then had to hang up in the airport until about 1pm EST and jumped on my connecting flight to Perth. It is a 4 hour trip from Melbourne to Perth, luckily I got some sleep in which chewed up some time. Arrive in Perth about 5pm EST (or 3pm local time). A whole working day flying or in airports...wasn't too bad though.

Perth certainly turned on the weather over the weekend...It was probably warmer in Canberra I tell ya!! Plus, I didn't pack much warm clothing - didn't think I would be needing it in Perth...Pretty wet and windy weekend, but it has gotten much better today and will be picking up during the week.

So, I am currently bashing away on the keyboard at my sister's place - which is about 200 metres (5 mins walk or so) from the Fremantle Jail. So people in Perth should know where that is, and I am not far from there. Actually went on the jail tour today, was very good and I would highly recommend it. I also went on the escape tour, which was straight after the general one and that was pretty interesting. About all the ways people broke out of jail or attempted too and you could easily imagine it all.

Catching up in Perth....Here are some days/evenings that are available. Could head out on Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday night this weekend. Or even Monday and Tuesday night next week. That is what is on the tables. As for somewhere to catch up, personally it would be easier for me if we did something in Freo. After being on quite a few walks around the place, I kind of know my way around and where all the pubs are!! =P
Could head to the Little creatures micro brewie or the Sail and Anchor or lots of other options.

So, let me know when you guys/girls can get out of the house and let loose!! Also, I am quite happy to head to another side of town if people want too.

Well done Yowie, you win the spelling bee.

OK, here is the deal. It is looking like now that the best bet for a get together is on Thursday night (say a 7pm kick off or so) in FREMANTLE for a countery and a mini-pub crawl.

Pretty much all other evenings are already booked out, expect for Mon and Tuesday next week.

I know it is very flexible, but that is the deal. So I would love to catch up with as many Perth based DFW members as possible on Thursday. Let me know if you are keen. Like I said, can change the venue - but this is what is on the table at the moment!
